How do I stop a friend from sending me messages?
If you don’t want to receive any messages from a friend or friends, you can choose to block them.

From the main window

  • To block friends one at a time, right click on their name in the main Rediff Bol window and select Block. You will see the word “Blocked” under that friend's name in the main window with an X sign. Your friend will not know that you have blocked him/ her. To unblock, right click on the name and choose Unblock.
  • To block many friends simultaneously, click Bol > Manage Contacts > Block/ Allow Friend(s)
  • Click the “Only people from the allow list can see me or send me messages” check box.
  • In the Allow box to the left, click on the email address/ Rediff Bol Id of the friend you want to block. A warning window appears, asking you whether you do want to block the friend. If you click on “Yes”, the friend’s name will appear in the “List of blocked friends” to the right. Repeat for other friends you want to block. To unblock, click in “List of blocked friends” the name in the warning list. Again a warning message appears “Are you sure you want user to contact you”. Choose “Yes”.

From the private message window

  • To block a contact with whom you are having a private conversation click Actions> Block this contact.
  • You will see the word “Blocked” under that friend's name in the main window with an X sign. Your friend will not know that you have blocked him/ her. To unblock, click Actions> Block this contact or right click on the name in the main window and choose “Unblock”.

From the Chat rooms

  • To block a contact from the main chat rooms, click on the name from the list of users on the right hand side of the main window. Right click with your mouse and choose “Ignore”. The person shall not be able to send/receive messages to you.
